Beschreibung

Vienna Cotta Feminized is a 65/35 indica-dominant hybrid developed by the team at Aficionado French Connection as part of the Sensi Seeds’ Breeding Grounds project. To create this strain, breeders started off with the classic Garlic Bud (a Seed Bank of Holland original based on Afghan landrace strains) and then crossed that with a blend of Strudel (a Biscotti BX1 phenotype) and Pianono (Key Lime Pie & Sorbetto) developed by Aficionado and bred outdoors at their facility in Colombia. The result is a fairly compact, versatile strain capable of producing heavy yields.

These highly resinous buds are a perfect choice for creating extracts, and the plants’ manageable height makes them ideal for indoor growers working with limited headroom. Overall, though, these plants are quite versatile, and growers should have little trouble slotting them into nearly any setup, though they thrive in warm, low-humidity environments.

Growth pattern of Vienna Cotta Feminized

Vienna Cotta Feminized cannabis seeds can be expected to grow into rather compact plants with internodal spacing slightly longer than a typical indica. Growers can look forward to a large and symmetrical central cola that rises only slightly above the lower canopy. Further down, these plants have fairly slender lateral branches, which can become weighed down by the dense, resin-coated buds.

Vienna Cotta Feminized plants perform incredibly well indoors and typically reach maturity at a height of 25-80 cm while generating heavy yields of as much as 400-550 grams per square metre. Outdoors, these plants can grow slightly taller, topping out at around 125 cm and producing up to 475-650 grams per plant over their somewhat short 60 to 65-day flowering period. The buds are truly impressive, and the plants tend to grow tight, chunky nugs with popcorn-like bracts and minimal vegetation.

These flowers are some of the most visually striking out there: creamy pale green with hints of baked almond brown and bold, light orange pistils all sit beneath frosty trichomes that cover every surface. Vienna Cotta Feminized plants are fairly versatile and make a great pick for a sea of green (SOG) or lollipopping, though it’s worth pointing out that the slender branches can be weighed down by the large buds, so some extra support may be a good idea. The fairly even branch size and slightly longer internodal spacing also make this strain a decent choice for a screen of green (SCROG), though its slow vegetative growth can make this a time-consuming prospect.

Effects, taste, and smell of Vienna Cotta Feminized

As Vienna Cotta Feminized plants near harvest, they begin to give off a potent and sweet aroma dominated by the smell of fresh-baked biscotti, roasted almonds, and creamy pastry. Lying just beneath that are more subtle notes of earthy musk, a subtle herbal spiciness, and vanilla. Overall, the smell is very much dessert-forward with softer, nutty accents that round things out nicely.

Once the buds are ready for use, they take on the same creamy almond, sweet biscotti, and buttery pastry notes. These are joined by a limey, zesty citrus aroma from the Pianono lineage. These buds are sure to turn heads thanks to their sweet, bakery-inspired dessert bouquet, layered with earthy and herbal undertones.

Rich, creamy, and inviting, these are perfect for cannabis aficionados who prefer more complex scents. The flavour doesn’t disappoint, either, with a smooth, sweet, dessert-forward profile that highlights the same baked almond, creamy lime, and soft pastry notes. These are all perfectly balanced by earthy and herbal hints that deliver a long-lasting, creamy aftertaste that is sure to impress both flower consumers and extractors.

The effects of Vienna Cotta

Feminized are generally well-balanced, kicking off with a relaxing body stone with a creamy, dreamy mental uplift that’s sure to get the creative juices flowing. The high is deeply calming but euphoric, making it ideal for an evening of working on your latest project. Thanks to the sativa genetics, though, this strain won’t lock you to the couch, letting you get the most out of your precious time.

Did you know? The Strudel parent was hand-picked in Colombia by Professor Q from more than 800 seeds for its exceptional resin production, dense structure, and distinctive garlic-forward terpene profile. Pianono is an Aficionado original bred from a cross of Key Lime Pie and Sorbetto.

Garlic Bud was originally bred in the 1980s by Nevil Schoenmakers (the founder of The Seed Bank of Holland), and we’re bringing it back as part of our Breeding Grounds project.
