Genetics and Origin of Master Kush

Master Kush is an F1 that crosses two distinct varieties of Hindu Kush from the Hindu Kush mountains in northern Afghanistan. We’re not talking about a cross with named cultivars, but rather a careful selection from landraces of the region, which explains its markedly indica character. The result is a compact, resilient plant with that unmistakable Afghan essence.

Indoor and Outdoor Growing

Indoors, Master Kush flowers on average in about 8 weeks and yields around 400 g/m², reaching 500 g/m² with SCROG technique according to the breeder. Its compact structure, short internodes and minimal stretch make it ideal for SCROG and SOG, and it adapts to any medium (soil, coco or hydroponics). It’s easy to grow and forgiving of mistakes, with one important precaution: control humidity and ensure good ventilation to prevent mold.

Outdoors it’s harvested between late September and mid-October depending on latitude and climate. It’s a plant resistant to both cold and heat, robust and even resistant to spider mites, although it prefers sunny, dry climates due to its sensitivity to humidity. Production ranges from a few dozen grams in small pots to 500-750 g per plant in large specimens in the ground, according to the official website.

Aroma, Flavor and Effects

Its aromatic profile is earthy and citrusy upfront, with sweet and spicy nuances that occasionally recall charas; a subtle and discreet aroma, perfect for stealth grows.

Master Kush’s effect is potent, long-lasting and very physical. It starts with a slightly euphoric and stimulating touch that soon evolves into deep body relaxation (body stone), reaching couch lock at higher doses.
