Velvet Mist is born from the cross between Purple Kush and Wedding Cake, a combination that results in an indica-dominant hybrid (around 70-75% indica according to the official source). Purple Kush contributes the purple tones, sedative effect and berry notes, while Wedding Cake adds sweetness, potency and that characteristic creamy vanilla flavor with an earthy background. It’s a high-potency variety, with very high THC levels that sit approximately between 22% and 26%. Two phenotypes have also been identified, one of them with especially vivid purples.

Indoor and outdoor cultivation

Indoors, Velvet Mist remains medium-sized (under 120 cm), with a bushy structure and uniform distribution of compact, heavy and very resinous buds. Its flowering completes in around 55-60 days (8-10 weeks according to the source text), with a production of 450-500 g/m². It’s recommended to apply lollipop on the lower branches at the beginning of flowering to increase yield and reduce the risk of hermaphroditism.

Outdoors it’s suitable for temperate and Mediterranean climates, where it can reach productions of up to 800-1000 g/plant. It presents good resistance to mold, mildew and pests inherited from both parents, although it’s advisable to thin out the dense foliage to promote ventilation. Overall, it’s a medium-difficulty variety that appreciates some management during cultivation.

Aromas, flavors and effects

In aroma, Velvet Mist displays an earthy, fruity and nutty profile, with berry nuances and peppery touches, supported by terpenes such as caryophyllene (spicy), myrcene and limonene (citrus). On the palate it’s sweet and creamy, with that vanilla background and earthy and woody notes, dotted with subtle hints of berries, nuts and pepper.

Its effects are relaxing and calming: it offers euphoric calmness accompanied by profound body relaxation, with a tendency toward couchlock but without a marked mental fog, according to sources.
