Can-Lite Carbon Filter – effective odour control for high-capacity extraction systems

The Can-Lite carbon filter is designed to reduce unwanted odours in the exhaust air of grow tents and indoor growing rooms. With eight airflow ratings from 425 to 3,000 m³/h and 13 available variants, the range accommodates different ventilation requirements. High-quality activated carbon, a sturdy steel housing and protective pre-filter fleece work together to provide effective air filtration during regular operation.

CKG 48 activated carbon for effective odour removal

Inside each Can-Lite filter is a bed of lightweight CKG 48 activated carbon. Its porous structure captures odour molecules as air passes through the filter, significantly reducing unwanted smells in the extracted air.

Depending on the model, the carbon bed measures between 2.5 and 5 cm in depth. The perforated housing supports even airflow through the filter, while a multi-layer pre-filter fleece captures dust and larger particles before they reach the activated carbon.

13 variants for different ventilation requirements

Can-Lite carbon filters are available with practical airflow capacities of 425, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 m³/h. Connection diameters range from 125 to 315 mm, depending on the selected model.

When selecting a filter, consider the actual airflow of your extractor fan. The carbon filter should have sufficient capacity to handle the airflow without air passing through the carbon bed too quickly. The connection diameter should also match your fan and ventilation ducting.

Installation in an extraction system

The carbon filter is normally installed on the intake side of the extractor fan. Air first passes through the protective fleece and activated carbon before being drawn through the fan and discharged from the growing area.

You can connect the filter using suitably sized ventilation ducting. Ensure that connections are properly sealed to prevent unfiltered air from bypassing the carbon filter. As the dimensions and weight vary considerably between models, secure mounting is particularly important for larger filters.

Pre-filter maintenance and operating conditions

Can-Filters specifies an 18-month service life as a reference for the Can-Lite range. Actual filter life depends on factors such as odour concentration, humidity and maintenance.

For reliable filtration, relative humidity should not exceed 70%. The maximum permitted operating temperature is 80°C. Keep the pre-filter fleece clean and dry, replacing it when necessary to prevent excessive dust accumulation. Suitable replacement CAN-Lite pre-filter fleece is available separately.
