Marigold

Beschrijving

Alchimia presents Marigold seeds by Rocalba, a plant with edible flowers originally from Mexico with beautiful flowers to decorate the garden and provide edible qualities.

In the culinary area, these edible flowers offer a citric flavour that combines perfectly with a wide range of dishes. Rocalba recommends trying them in sandwiches, wok vegetables, seafood dishes, salads or even as an accompaniment to hot desserts. It also recommends occasional consumption and in moderation.

Another notable aspect is its allelopathic properties, repelling whitefly, aphids and mealybugs and promoting the presence of beneficial insects.

It is a relatively easy plant to grow, as it only requires exposure to full sun in a warm or temperate climate and moderate watering. It is usually planted as an annual, but in frost-free climates it can live for several years.
