Origin

LA Confidential, also known as “Confidential” or “Confidential OG,” originates from the U.S. and has earned a reputation as a Cannabis Cup winner, recognized in the Indica category at the 2005 Cannabis Cup. Its robust genetics stem from a cross between OG LA Affie and dank Afghani specimens, creating a potent, well-rounded Indica.

With a lineage tracing back through OG Kush and Afghan, the strain offers growers real resilience and strength, and related crosses like 24k Gold and Black Sugar add to its appeal.

L.A. Confidential Strain Awards

L.A. Confidential earned recognition in the Indica category at the 2005 Cannabis Cup, one of the most prestigious and competitive cannabis events worldwide. That result highlights its exceptional indica-dominant genetics, dense flower structure and high resin production under rigorous judging standards.

Placing in the Indica category confirms L.A. Confidential’s genetic stability, potency and consistent performance, reinforcing its reputation as a premium, award-winning variety appreciated by growers and connoisseurs on the international stage.

LA Confidential Strain: Sativa or Indica?

LA Confidential is a strong indica (90% Indica / 10% Sativa), delivering the full range of relaxing, sedative effects typical of this type of cannabis. Its deep Afghani genetics give it a classic indica profile with powerful body relaxation.

Even so, many users report a mild mental lift and a sociable, talkative edge, which adds a little versatility to the experience. L.A. Confidential feminized seeds are ideal for anyone seeking a strain that excels at promoting deep calm, with just a touch of sativa influence.

LA Confidential Strain Effects

The effects of LA Confidential are deeply relaxing, with a strong body high that is perfect for winding down.

While primarily sedative, it also brings a happy, mildly euphoric lift and a sociable, talkative edge, so the calm never feels heavy or dull.

LA Confidential Strain Flowering Time

LA Confidential seeds typically flower within 8 to 10 weeks, making it a relatively fast grower. Its Afghani genetics drive that quick cycle, so growers can enjoy a timely harvest.

With its short flowering time, LA Confidential suits both indoor and outdoor growing. The plants produce dense, resinous buds at a modest yield, trading quantity for quality, which makes it a great choice for growers who value potency and resin over sheer volume.

How to Grow LA Confidential Seeds?

LA Confidential seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions to ensure healthy development. They are moderately easy to grow and hardy, but pest prevention is always essential.

Different growing methods can be used to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized buds:
• Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
• Thanks to the experience of our customers with LA Confidential seeds, yields can be increased by up to 20%.

For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to create a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers.

Remember that your plants need good nutrients throughout all stages: seedling, vegetative and flowering.

When growing outdoors, choose the best date for planting and a location where the plants receive the maximum hours of sunlight. For indoor cultivation, good tents, textile pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter are essential to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉, with nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive: keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and drop it to 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, growers in the Northern Hemisphere should sow in April to harvest around October. Healthy LA Confidential seeds produce around 17.64 oz/plant | 500 gr/plant of buds.

Indoors, the flowering time is 8-10 weeks, with yields of about 0.66 oz/ft² | 200 gr/m².

Ideal Climate for Cultivating

LA Confidential grows best in a temperate climate similar to its California homeland, with warm summers and mild winters. It thrives when daytime temperatures stay within 70-85 ℉ (21-29 ℃), which ensures peak growth, though it can also adapt to cooler conditions, which makes it quite versatile. Keep rainfall moderate and use well-draining soil to prevent waterlogging and root rot.

In the United States, ideal states include California, Oregon, Nevada and Arizona for their long warm periods. Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina can also support it, with extra attention during colder months, while Florida, Texas and New Mexico suit it thanks to their mild winters. In these conditions, LA Confidential seeds perform exceptionally well and reveal their full potential for quality and yield.
