Blumat Classic Display – automatic watering for individual houseplants
The Blumat Classic Display is a compact watering unit for individual houseplants. A suction tube draws water from a separate reservoir and supplies it to the soil through a porous clay cone. The system requires no electricity or batteries, making it suitable for regular plant care as well as keeping plants watered while you are away.
Demand-based watering through a porous clay cone
The water-filled clay cone is inserted completely into the soil near the plant’s roots. As the growing medium dries, the plant can draw water through the porous cone. With the reservoir positioned correctly, water delivery therefore responds to soil moisture. You can find more products based on this approach among our Blumat irrigation systems.
Simple setup without repotting
To prepare the unit, remove the green cap and fill the clay cone completely with water. Press the cap back onto the full cone, insert the cone fully into the soil and place the suction tube in a separate water container. The plant can remain in its usual position and does not need to be repotted. Further automatic and manual options are available in our irrigation systems range.
Adjusting water delivery with reservoir height
When the water level is approximately level with or slightly below the green cap, water delivery is around 75 ml per 24 hours. Placing the reservoir noticeably lower reduces delivery to approximately 50 ml per 24 hours. If the water level is above the cap, the Blumat Classic can supply up to 150 ml per 24 hours; in this position, water flows continuously rather than according to soil moisture.
