Lineage Grape Ape Strain

Grape Ape is a favorite among cultivators for its potent genetics and high THC, reaching up to 25%. It is a predominantly Indica strain (90% Indica / 10% Sativa), ideal for easing stress and physical discomfort with a deeply relaxing experience.

Grape Ape seeds come from a powerful combination of Afghani, Mendocino Purps and Skunk #1. That blend gives the strain its reputation for visually striking purple buds and a flavor profile of hashish, skunk and sweetness.

Origin

Grape Ape was first developed in the renowned seed banks of Amsterdam, a city famous for its pioneering role in cannabis cultivation. It quickly gained popularity for its exceptional quality, winning multiple awards. The strain is a complex hybrid created by crossing Mendocino Purps, Skunk and Afghani, each contributing unique traits to its robust genetics.

With a rich heritage that includes Mendocino Purps influences such as Purple Urkle and Big Bud, it has become a favorite among growers and users alike, prized for high-quality buds with a potent, relaxing effect.

Grape Ape Strain Sativa or Indica?

Grape Ape is dominantly Indica (90% Indica / 10% Sativa) and shows all the hallmark traits of the type: a short, bushy stature and deeply relaxing effects. That genetic makeup shapes both how the plant grows and how it feels to use.

The effect is a classic indica experience: a profound sense of calm that washes over the body and often eases into a restful, restorative sleep. That makes Grape Ape especially appealing for evening use or for anyone looking to unwind in a deeply relaxing way.

Grape Ape Strain Effects

Grape Ape begins with a wave of calm that gently eases the mind and body into a calming, relaxed and sleepy state. The shift from tension to tranquility is smooth, which makes it a favorite for a gentle release from the day’s stress.

The result is a comforting, body-heavy relaxation that is ideal for winding down toward sleep.

Grape Ape Flowering Time

Grape Ape has a flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks, the stage when the buds develop their characteristic colors, aromas and flavors. The plants reward attentive care here, as proper nutrition, light and water are key to optimizing bud development.

It is also a stage where growers can shape the quality of the harvest: techniques such as pruning and careful environmental control help maximize yield. By the end of flowering, Grape Ape delivers its signature lush, purple buds, as striking to look at as they are flavorful.

How to Grow Grape Ape Seeds?

Grape Ape seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Its compact Indica genetics (about 1 m / 3.28 ft) make it a manageable plant, moderately easy to grow, though you should always prevent pests.

You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized Grape Ape buds.

• Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
• Thanks to the experience of our customers with our feminized Grape Ape seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.

For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.

Remember that the plants need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period. When growing outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine. If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.

Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive: keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, growers in the Northern Hemisphere should sow in April to harvest in mid October, with each plant producing about 2.12 – 4.23 oz/plant | 60 – 120 gr/plant. Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.64 oz/ft² | 500 gr/m².

Ideal Climate for Growing

Grape Ape excels in a temperate or Mediterranean climate, with warm, sunny summers followed by mild autumns. The optimum temperature range is 70-80 ℉ (21-27 ℃), which emulates the strain’s natural environment and promotes strong growth. It also prefers annual precipitation of 15-30 inches (380-760 mm) and well-draining soil to guard against root rot.

In the United States, especially suitable states include Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Georgia and Florida, each offering a climate that matches the strain’s ideal conditions. It also thrives in the milder climates of Texas, North Carolina and Tennessee. Under these conditions, growers will notice an improvement in both quality and yield from Grape Ape feminized seeds.

Remember to always check your local laws regarding cannabis before purchasing seeds or starting a grow.

What does the Strain Smell Like?

The aroma of Grape Ape is as distinctive as its name: a deep, sweet fragrance of ripe grapes over an earthy base, with clear layers of hashish and skunk from its varied lineage. The flavor follows the same sweet, hashish-and-skunk profile.

Grape Ape makes a smooth, flavorful smoke and, thanks to its heavy resin production, is also an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates. That rich aromatic profile sets the stage for the calming, sleepy effects that follow.

Experiencing the Strain

Grape Ape is all about relaxation. From the first inhale, its sweet, fruity flavor comes through while the calming effects start to settle the mind and body.

A light initial euphoria eases into deep relaxation, which makes it a perfect strain for unwinding after a long day or settling into a restful night’s sleep.

Grape Ape Strain Terpenes

Grape Ape carries a sweet, grape-like aroma over an earthy base, layered with hashish and skunk, built on a profile of ten terpenes. Four dominant players shape both its scent and its deeply calming effect.

Myrcene forms the earthy, musky-sweet base of the aroma.

Caryophyllene adds the warm, peppery spice at the heart of the hashish-and-skunk funk.

Borneol brings a cool, camphor-like note traditionally associated with soothing physical ease, deepening the sleepy, relaxed feel.
