Lineage Dolato Seeds
Dolato is a mostly indica hybrid (70% Indica / 30% Sativa) from the cross of Gelato #41 and Do-Si-Dos. It carries an earthy, pungent and sweet flavor with a strong body high.
With a Medium THC of 17% to 20%, it is a good choice for anyone after a strong, relaxing experience with a bright, uplifting edge.
Origin
Dolato, a predominantly indica feminized strain, has roots in both American and European seed banks. It comes from crossing two powerhouse strains, Gelato #41 and Do-Si-Dos, developed to enhance its potency and aroma. In the United States, breeders fine-tuned it to maximize resin production and terpene content.
European breeders helped stabilize the genetics for consistent quality and reliable results. That mix of American innovation and European precision makes Dolato a strain esteemed for its distinctive character and dependable performance.
Dolato Strain Sativa or Indica?
Dolato is predominantly indica, 70% Indica / 30% Sativa. It offers a tranquil, body-centric experience that eases physical tension, while its 30% sativa keeps a bright, uplifting edge to the high.
It shows classic indica traits: dense, resinous buds and broad, dark green leaves. Users can expect a soothing body feel alongside a lifted, energetic mood, a versatile option for unwinding without heavy sedation.
Dolato Strain Effects
Dolato is energetic, euphoric and uplifted, a lift in mood and drive that many turn to for fatigue and stress. Underneath the bright head, a comforting body feel helps ease muscle tension and spasms, for a balanced day-or-evening experience.
Its mix of an uplifted mind and a relaxed body makes Dolato versatile: a brighter, motivating side for daytime and a soothing one for winding down. Effects vary from person to person.
Dolato Strain Flowering Time
Dolato has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks, a relatively short cycle that lets the plant develop dense, resinous buds while keeping a rich terpene profile, for a potent, flavorful yield in a practical timeframe.
It is also resilient and easy to grow, suitable for all experience levels. Good resistance to common pests and diseases, plus a manageable flowering period, makes for a smooth grow and a rewarding harvest whether you are new or seasoned.
How to grow Dolato strain?
Dolato can be grown indoors or outdoors. It is compact, robust and hardy, moderately easy to grow, though it is always worth guarding against pests. A few methods help retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors:
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- In our customers’ experience, good technique can increase yields by up to 20%.
Indoors, use wide, vertical space and the ScrOG method for a uniform canopy and bigger lower flowers. Provide good tents, fabric pots, LED lighting, an air extractor and a carbon filter, and feed proper nutrients through the seedling, vegetative and flowering stages.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68 and 80 ℉, and night temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day. Keep relative humidity at 55 to 60% during vegetative growth, around 40% in flowering, and down to 30% by harvest.
Outdoors in the northern hemisphere, sow in April for a mid-October harvest, at about 17.64 to 29.98 oz per plant (500 to 850 g). Indoors, the flowering time runs 8 to 10 weeks with yields of 1.64 oz/ft² (500 g/m²).
Ideal Climate for Cultivating
Dolato flourishes in a temperate or milder continental climate, with warm summers and cool autumns. It thrives at temperatures around 70 to 85 ℉ (21 to 29 ℃), which fuel optimal growth and a consistent, healthy yield.
Dolato adapts to a range of elevations, from sea level up to 2,000 m, performing best at lower altitudes with ample sunlight. Well-draining soil prevents root rot, ideally in regions with annual rainfall between 15 and 30 inches (380 to 760 mm).
In the United States, states such as California, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Washington, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee offer suitable conditions. Planting Dolato in these climates optimizes growth and leads to a rewarding harvest of its potent, resin-rich clusters.
What does the Dolato smell like?
The buds of Dolato are rock-hard, soaked in resin and often carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. The taste and flavor are a blend of earthy, pungent and sweet notes.
It makes for a smooth, soft smoke with a strong, relaxing character and a bright edge. Thanks to its heavy resin production, it is an ideal strain for high-quality extracts and concentrates.
Experiencing the Strain
With a Medium THC of 17% to 20%, Dolato brings a state of happiness, concentration and relaxation. It lifts the mood and sharpens focus while easing the body, leaving most users cheerful and content.
It works both as a daytime, motivating lift and as a relaxed wind-down in the evening. A mostly indica plant with a sturdy main stem and satellite branches, it grows well indoors or outdoors, with a higher yield when it gets full outdoor sunshine.
As a photoperiod feminized strain, Dolato has a flowering period of 8 to 10 weeks, and feeding the right nutrients at each stage helps develop resinous buds and trichomes.
Dolato Strain Terpenes
Dolato pairs an earthy, pungent and sweet aroma with an energetic, euphoric and uplifted effect over a relaxed body, built on a profile of seven terpenes. Here is what each one brings.
Alpha-Pinene brings a crisp, piney sharpness tied to alertness and mental clarity, a key driver of the strain’s energetic, clear-headed character and its value for fatigue.
Terpinolene adds a fresh, herbal brightness associated with an uplifting feel, reinforcing the euphoric, upbeat side of the effect.
Menthol contributes a cool, minty freshness that lifts the aroma and adds to the invigorating, clear-sensed quality of the high.
Caryophyllene is the source of the warm, peppery, pungent note and is the only terpene known to bind the body’s CB2 receptors. Widely associated with easing tension, it supports the strain’s value for muscle spasms and stress.
Humulene adds an earthy, woody warmth that deepens the aroma and is traditionally tied to soothing physical tension and inflammation.
Myrcene forms the earthy, musky base and is the terpene most tied to body relaxation, grounding the energetic head with a soothing body feel for muscle spasms.
