Blumat Classic, 3 pcs.

Description

Automatic houseplant watering without electricity or a mains water connection

Blumat Classic, 3 pcs. provides automatic watering for indoor plants using water from a separate reservoir. Each Blumat operates without electricity, a pump or a fixed water connection and supplies moisture to the growing medium through a clay cone. It is a straightforward solution for everyday plant care as well as weekends and holidays.

Demand-based watering through a porous clay cone

The clay cone is completely filled with water and inserted into the soil close to the root zone. A thin suction tube connects it to a water container of your choice. As the growing medium becomes drier, the plant draws moisture from the clay cone and replacement water is drawn in from the reservoir. When sufficient moisture is available, water uptake decreases accordingly.

Adjust the water output with reservoir height

The position of the water container affects the delivery rate. With the water level level with or slightly below the green Blumat cap, output is approximately 75 ml per 24 hours. Placing the water level significantly lower reduces output to around 50 ml per 24 hours. If the water level is above the cap, the Classic can release water continuously and deliver up to 150 ml per 24 hours. It is therefore sensible to observe the setup for several days before leaving plants unattended for an extended period.

Flexible watering for several houseplants

The three Classic units can be used to water several pots independently. For larger or thirstier plants, more than one unit can also be placed in the same pot. For increased water requirements, the Blumat Classic XL is a suitable alternative. You can find further options among the Blumat irrigation systems. Blumat Classic can be used with conventional potting soil as well as clay granulates such as Seramis.
