Lineage Blueberry Strain

Origin

The Blueberry strain, renowned for its exceptional genetics, originated from American seeds. Developed in the 1970s, it is the result of crossing landrace strains from Thailand and Afghanistan, including Afghan kush and Fruity Juice. The goal was a strain with unique flavors and potent effects, and Blueberry delivered, giving rise to a whole family of blue varieties such as Blue moonrocks and Mataro Blue.

In the 1990s, Amsterdam seed banks further refined Blueberry’s genetics, cementing its place in cannabis history. During flowering the plants develop dense, resin-coated buds that often take on the strain’s famous blue and purple hues as temperatures drop. The short flowering time does not cost quality: the buds keep their rich cannabinoid and terpene content, rewarding growers with potent, fragrant flowers packed with trichomes.

How to Grow Blueberry strain seeds?

Although they are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, we should always prevent any pests. You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized Blueberry buds.

When you grow cannabis seeds outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine.

If on the other hand you prefer to grow your Feminized seeds indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law. Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.

Blueberry Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, breeders in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in mid October. Healthy Feminized Blueberry seeds produce about 19.4 oz/plant | 550 g/plant of buds each.

Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.64 oz/ft² | 500 gr/m².

Optimal Climate for Growing

Blueberry cannabis thrives in a subtropical or tropical climate with long, warm summers and mild winters. The ideal temperature range is 65-75 ℉ (18-24 ℃) for optimal growth and yield. It handles cooler temperatures better than many strains, but consistency is key: below 50 ℉ (10 ℃) the plant can stress, and above 86 ℉ (30 ℃) its growth can slow.

In the United States, ideal states for Blueberry thanks to their climate include California, Florida and Hawaii, along with the southern parts of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. These regions offer the best outdoor conditions and complement the strain’s robust genetics for a generous harvest. With proper indoor controls, though, Blueberry can be grown virtually anywhere, as long as the climate stays even and balanced.

What does the Strain Smell Like?

The buds of Blueberry are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. Its taste and flavor are a blend of berry, pine and sweet notes: an unmistakable aroma of freshly baked blueberry muffins, with creamy hints of vanilla and a soft floral undertone.
