Lineage Sour Skies strain
Sour Skies is an indica-dominant strain from the cross between Sour Diesel and Skywalker OG (60% Indica / 40% Sativa). It tends to show a citrus, earthy and lemon flavor with a strong, mostly Indica body high.
It also carries a High THC of 17% – 25%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a strong, relaxing experience.
Origin
Sour Skies comes from crossing Sour Diesel with Skywalker OG. Its genetics are a rich blend reaching back through OG Kush, Blueberry, Mazar, Chemdawg, Northern Lights and Skunk, which makes it a powerhouse of flavor and potency.
That deep lineage gives Sour Skies seeds exceptional qualities: robust growth, resin-rich buds and a complex terpene profile. Growers and enthusiasts value the strain for its aromatic appeal and standout genetic heritage.
Sour Skies Sativa or Indica?
Sour Skies is predominantly indica (60% Indica / 40% Sativa), offering deep relaxation and full-body effects. Its OG Kush, Northern Lights and Mazar genetics bring the calming, soothing side, which makes it well suited to easing stress.
While primarily indica, it carries mild sativa influences from its Sour Diesel heritage, adding a subtle cerebral uplift and a sociable edge. Cultivators of Sour Skies feminized seeds enjoy its compact growth, high resin production and reliable yields, all hallmarks of a quality indica strain.
Sour Skies Effects
Sour Skies delivers a potent, relaxing high that is perfect for unwinding after a long day. Its indica dominance brings a soothing body buzz, while the sativa undertones add a gentle mental uplift and a happy, talkative edge.
Users love its flavor too, combining earthy, diesel notes with bright, fruity citrus for a well-rounded sensory experience.
Sour Skies Strain Flowering Time
Sour Skies has a flowering time of 8 to 10 weeks, a convenient choice for growers seeking efficiency and quality, with a short cycle that delivers quick harvests without sacrificing potency.
Sour Skies feminized seeds yield dense, resinous buds that showcase the strain’s robust genetics. Its adaptability to a range of growing conditions makes it popular among cultivators, offering a consistent, rewarding harvest.
How to grow Sour Skies strain?
Sour Skies seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, we should always prevent any pests.
You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized Sour Skies buds.
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- Thanks to the experience of our customers with our feminized Sour Skies seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.
For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.
Remember that our plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period.
When growing outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine. If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.
Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.
Outdoors, growers in the Northern Hemisphere should sow in April to harvest in mid October. Healthy feminized Sour Skies seeds produce about 2.82 – 3.53 oz/plant | 80 – 100 g/plant of buds each.
Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.31 – 1.64 oz/ft² | 400 – 500 gr/m².
Ideal Climate for Growing
Sour Skies flourishes in a warm, sunny environment, ideally a Mediterranean or temperate continental climate. The optimal temperature range is 70-80 ℉ (21-27 ℃), which supports robust growth and high yields. It adapts to elevations from sea level to around 2,500 meters but does best at lower altitudes with abundant, consistent sunlight. Moderate annual precipitation of 20-40 inches (510-1020 mm) and well-draining soil are key to preventing waterlogged roots.
For U.S. growers, the most favorable states include California, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and Texas, which offer the right mix of temperature, sunlight and humidity. In these climates, Sour Skies feminized seeds reach their full potential, with the flavorful profile and balanced effects the strain is known for.
What does the strain smell like?
The buds of Sour Skies are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. Its taste and aroma are a blend of citrus and lemon over an earthy, diesel-tinged base inherited from Sour Diesel.
Sour Skies makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a strong, relaxing experience. Thanks to its large resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates.

Sour Skies Strain terpenes
Sour Skies carries a zesty aroma of citrus and lemon over an earthy, diesel-tinged base, built on a profile of thirteen terpenes, led by four dominant players that shape both its scent and its happy, relaxed effect.
Myrcene forms the earthy, musky base of the aroma. The most common cannabis terpene and the one most tied to body relaxation, it drives the soothing calm at the heart of this indica.
Cannabis seeds are sold for collection and genetic preservation. Check the law in your country before germinating them.
