Lineage Orange Bud strain
Orange Bud is a classic selection of Skunk #1, a sativa-leaning strain (55% Sativa / 45% Indica). It tends to show an earthy, herbal, spicy and woody flavor with a smooth, well-rounded high.
It also carries a Medium THC of 16% – 23%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a happy, relaxing experience.
Origin
Orange Bud traces its roots back to the renowned Skunk family, a cornerstone of both American and European cannabis breeding. Developed in the 1980s, it quickly gained popularity for its resilience and its distinctive, pungent skunky aroma. It consistently produces high-quality plants that thrive in a range of climates, a versatile choice for growers worldwide.
That robust genetic lineage has cemented Orange Bud’s place as a classic. Its Skunk heritage gives it strong growth characteristics and potent effects, a favorite among both novice and experienced cultivators.
Orange Bud Sativa or Indica?
Orange Bud is a sativa-leaning strain (55% Sativa / 45% Indica), but its effect stays gentle and calming rather than racy. A light, happy head lift sits over a soothing body relaxation, with enough mental clarity to keep things pleasant and clear-headed.
That near-balanced makeup gives Orange Bud a versatile, easygoing character: relaxing without heavy sedation, and uplifting without overstimulation. It is a popular choice for anyone who wants to unwind while staying content and comfortable.
Orange Bud Strain Effects
Orange Bud delivers a calm, happy and relaxed experience. A gentle, feel-good lift brightens the mood and settles into a soothing body relaxation, easing stress without heavy sedation, so you stay comfortable and clear-headed rather than knocked out.
That well-balanced effect, with a light mental lift alongside real physical calm, is what makes Orange Bud a great choice for easing stress, muscle tension and fatigue while keeping the mind pleasant and content.
Orange Bud Seeds Flowering Time
Orange Bud typically flowers within 8 to 9 weeks, a relatively quick-maturing sativa-leaning strain. During this period, the plant develops dense, resinous buds rich in skunky, earthy aromas. Despite its sativa lean, Orange Bud stays compact and easy to manage, suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation.
Growers appreciate the strain for its reliability and the quality of its yields. The short flowering time, combined with its potent effects and robust flavors, makes Orange Bud a valuable addition to any garden, delivering bountiful harvests with minimal effort.
How to grow Orange Bud strain?
Orange Bud seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are compact, robust and moderately easy to grow, we should always prevent any pests.
You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your Feminized Orange Bud buds.
- Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
- Thanks to the experience of our customers with our Feminized Orange Bud seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.
For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our Feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.
Remember that our cannabis plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period.
When you grow outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine.
If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law.
Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.
Feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.
Outdoors, breeders in the northern hemisphere should sow their cannabis seeds in April for harvest in mid October. Healthy Feminized Orange Bud seeds produce about 17 oz/plant | 500 gr/plant of buds each.
Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 9 weeks and produce about 0.98 – 1.31 oz/ft² | 300 – 400 gr/m².
Ideal Climate for Growing
The Orange Bud strain flourishes in a temperate climate with plenty of sunlight and moderate humidity. The optimal temperature range is 70-80 ℉ (21-27 ℃), which allows vigorous growth and abundant yields. Use well-draining soil to keep roots healthy and avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Aim for moderate humidity in the vegetative stage (around 55-60%), reducing it toward 40% during flowering and down to about 30% by harvest.
For U.S. growers, ideal states for Orange Bud include California, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and Florida, which offer the warm temperatures and ample sunlight the strain needs. Grown in these regions, Orange Bud can fully express its genetic potential, resulting in robust plants and exceptional quality.
What does the strain smell like?
The buds of Orange Bud are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes.
Its taste and flavor are a blend of earthy and herbal notes with a spicy, woody edge, over a pungent skunky base. Orange Bud makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a happy, relaxing experience. Thanks to its large resin production, it is an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates.
