Funk Doctor (semillas regulares)

Descripción

Funk Doctor is a regular variety from Higher Heights, the breeder from Mendocino (California). It’s a hybrid that reinforces the Carambola line to bring out its citrus and tropical fruit terpenes. Its effect is potent, positive and activating. It suits growers looking for a tasty, fast-flowering genetics to make their own selections.

Genetics: a backcross towards Carambola

The cross combines Carambola x Guayaba Rasta. Carambola is a Higher Heights clone that comes from (Sunburn x Green Tea) x Brozé. It’s one of the breeder’s favorite plants, both for smoking and breeding, and it’s the one that provides the tropical fruit and citrus profile that defines this line.

Guayaba Rasta already carries 25% Carambola in its blood, so this cross works as a backcross that concentrates the influence of that plant again. The breeder doesn’t detail the rest of Guayaba Rasta’s composition nor the overall indica/sativa percentage. What he does describe is the objective: to enhance Carambola’s fruity and citrus side within a vigorous hybrid.

Regarding structure, Funk Doctor produces medium-sized plants with rapid growth, little foliage and very robust branches. These branches support the flower weight well without needing much trellising.

In cultivation: fast and with firm branches

The flowering of most specimens is completed in 58-65 days, and some selections can finish even earlier. It’s a short cycle for a hybrid with such a fruity profile and allows planning indoor grows without extending each round too much.

The rapid growth and medium size facilitate its management in indoor spaces. The low foliage proportion reduces manicuring work after harvest. The strong branches help maintain a stable structure during the final weeks, when the flowers gain weight.

As these are regular seeds, it’s advisable to reserve space for sexing the plants and discarding males. This format is precisely its strong point for those who enjoy hunting phenotypes. The breeder warns that the terpenes in this line vary greatly from plant to plant, making it very interesting for selecting a mother according to your aroma preferences or for your own breeding projects.

Flavor and effect: citrus, tropical fruit and energy

The aromatic profile revolves around citrus and tropical fruit inherited from Carambola. Since terpene expression is highly variable, each phenotype can lean towards a different nuance within that fruity family. It’s an intense and pronounced flavor, designed for those who appreciate varieties with character on the palate.

The effect is strong and positive, with a combination of motivation and energy that places it in the realm of activating varieties. It’s a good choice for times of day when you want to stay active. Funk Doctor brings together fast flowering, very present fruity flavor and a stimulating effect in a regular package open to selection.
