Lineage Colombian Gold Strain

It also carries a Medium THC of 16 – 19%, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a happy experience with a good dose of energy.

Origin

Colombian Gold, also known as “Santa Marta Colombian Gold” or simply “Santa Marta,” originates from the mountainous region of Santa Marta in Colombia, whose peaks, the highest in the country, rise over 2,500 meters. The name comes from the distinctive golden-yellow hue with orange and reddish hairs that the buds develop as they mature and cure.

Colombian Gold is highly sought after for its classic sativa character, and this landrace has become a true staple of the cannabis world. Cultivators value its reliability and consistency, and it has gone on to inspire newer varieties such as Colombian Jack, Colombian Gold Auto and Santa Marta Haze Auto.

How to Grow Colombian Gold Seeds?

Colombian Gold feminized seeds can be grown indoors or outdoors under optimal conditions, to avoid any problems during their development. Although they are moderately easy to grow and hardy, we should always prevent any pests. You can use different growing methods to retain and enhance the terpenes and flavors of your feminized Colombian Gold buds.

• Use a quality substrate. Perlite, peat or coco coir are ideal for moisture retention.
• Thanks to the experience of our customers with our feminized Colombian Gold seeds, we know that we can increase yields by up to 20%.

For optimal indoor cultivation, Blimburn Seeds advises wide, vertical spaces and the use of the ScrOG method to obtain a uniform canopy and increase the size of the lower flowers. If you plan to grow our feminized seeds outdoors, we have developed a grow guide for optimal cultivation in any area of the world.

Remember that our plants also need good nutrients as seedlings, in their vegetative period and finally in their flowering period. When growing outdoors, choose the best date for your crop and a place where the plants receive the most hours of sunshine.

If you prefer to grow indoors, use good tents, textile pots, led lighting, an air extractor to circulate clean air and, of course, a good carbon filter to avoid problems with neighbors or the law. Keep daytime temperatures between 68-80 ℉ and nighttime temperatures 7 to 9 ℉ cooler than the day.

These feminized plants need low humidity to thrive. Keep relative humidity (RH) at 55%-60% during the vegetative phase, reduce it to around 40% during flowering and to about 30% by harvest.

Outdoors, growers in the Northern Hemisphere should sow in spring to harvest around October. Healthy feminized Colombian Gold seeds produce about 19.4 – 21.16 oz/plant | 550 – 600 gr/plant of buds each.

Indoors, these crops have a flowering time of 8 – 10 weeks and produce about 1.15 – 1.31 oz/ft² | 350 – 400 gr/m².

Ideal Climate for Cultivating

Colombian Gold thrives in a warm, tropical climate that mirrors its native Colombian habitat. The ideal temperature range is a steady 70-90 ℉ (21-32 ℃). The plant depends on consistent sunlight, high annual rainfall of 80-400 inches (2000-10,000 mm) and well-drained soil to prevent root rot.

In the United States, ideal states include Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arizona and Texas, where tropical to subtropical climates prevail. In these regions, Colombian Gold thrives and growers can make the most of its premium landrace genetics, with the yield capacity, quality and durability that make these seeds an excellent choice.

What does the Strain Smell Like?

The buds of Colombian Gold are rock hard, soaked in resin and carry a crystalline sheen from the sheer amount of trichomes. Its taste and aroma are a blend of fruity and sweet notes, with sour lemon and lime, a touch of sweet skunk and an earthy undertone.

Colombian Gold makes a delicious, smooth smoke and delivers a happy, energizing experience. Thanks to its large resin production, it is also an ideal strain for high quality extracts and concentrates.
