Athena Pro Balance – adjustable pH control for your dosing system

Athena Pro Balance is a potassium carbonate-based powder for raising the pH of your nutrient solution. Rather than adding it directly, you first prepare a stock solution: a dissolved concentrate that can be dosed as required. It is particularly suited to growers using automatic dosing equipment, while also offering a practical option for manually mixed nutrient solutions.

Water-soluble potassium carbonate for Dosatron and Netaflex

The high-purity formula dissolves completely in water. It was developed particularly for irrigation equipment such as Netaflex, where certain silicate-based pH adjusters can block Venturi injectors. It is also suitable for use with Dosatron. By varying the concentration of your stock solution, you can tailor the level of pH correction to your system’s requirements.

Prepare your stock solution and establish the required dose

Add the powder to water and mix until it has dissolved completely. Choose a concentration that suits your dosing equipment and the amount of pH correction needed. The stock solution is a concentrate, not a ready-to-use irrigation solution. Use measuring jugs and dosing accessories to measure water volumes and subsequent additions.

First establish the required dose using a fully mixed nutrient solution. Add the concentrate gradually, mix thoroughly and check the pH after each addition with a pH meter. Record the quantity used. For later batches prepared under the same conditions, add that amount to the water before the fertilisers, then check the finished solution again.

Handle safely and protect from moisture

Wear suitable protective gloves and eye protection, avoid generating dust and work in a well-ventilated area. Store the powder in a cool, dry place with the container tightly closed. Keep it away from acids and avoid contact with aluminium. Also follow the handling precautions on the product label and in the safety data sheet.
