Athena Balance – buffer your irrigation water and raise pH with control
Athena Balance is a liquid potassium silicate pH adjuster for preparing irrigation water before adding nutrients. The concentrate raises pH and supports buffering, making it particularly useful with reverse osmosis water. It suits beginners mixing their own nutrient solutions as well as experienced growers using mechanical dosing equipment.
Prepare reverse osmosis water before adding nutrients
Reverse osmosis water has little buffering capacity, so its pH can change readily when other substances are added. Balance helps buffer this starting water and can reduce the amount of pH correction needed after mixing. Regular measurements are still important. Your Athena base nutrients continue to provide the main nutrient supply: Balance complements them as a water conditioner rather than replacing a complete fertiliser.
Measure the required dose and mix thoroughly
The amount needed depends on your source water, nutrient recipe and target pH. A single fixed dose will therefore not suit every mixture. Add Balance to the water first and mix thoroughly before introducing other fertilisers. Once the full nutrient solution has been mixed, check its pH with a calibrated pH meter and adjust as required.
A 5 ml dosing syringe helps you measure small quantities. Follow the product label and the mixing order specified in your feeding schedule.
Dosing equipment and safe handling
The sediment-free formula is compatible with mechanical dosing systems such as Dosatron. Liquid Balance is not recommended for Venturi-based systems, including Netaflex, because clogging may occur. Check which dosing technology your equipment uses before introducing the product.
Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrate. Follow the safety instructions on the label and keep the product out of reach of children.
